Welcome to our Summer Season 2017!

Dear Members, Dear Friends!

From March 7th we will be open at 16.30 as usual!

We began the New Year 2017 with an interesting and informative visit from the British Ambassador in Vienna and in the week after the annual Pancake Race the society hosted more guests.

This time the Consular Department of the British Embassy in Vienna enjoyed a train journey to come and visit us.

Very soon some of our members will be on their way to the North of England but they will be back before Easter. The days are getting longer and with so many holidays breaking up the weeks, we have decided to leave evening talks until the autumn.

On one evening, though, the society’s author, H. W. Valerian (aka Heinz the Treasurer) will present his latest books on the “Confessions of an Austrian Anglophile” during a social get-together. This is in advance of an afternoon walk through Innsbruck by the author himself. He will take us to Jewish traces his Granny used to tell him about: “Geschichten und Geschichte”.

Numbers are limited for the afternoon walk through Innsbruck: please write to hw.valerian@aon.at or contact 05225 / 62976 if you wish to take part.

Our excursion is to the east of Tyrol at long last. Our journey will take us to Lienz where we will also remember the fate of the Cossacks in the cemetery there. Naturally we will not just be driving the shortest way to Lienz and back but will have other interesting things for you to fill our day.
Finally our well loved BBQ will round off the season.
